Pay Rate: $20.00 per hour
Schedule: Monday – Friday, 5:00 PM – 2:00 AM
Training Schedule: First shift training for approximately one week (6:00 AM – 3:00 PM), then permanent assignment to second shift.
Position Summary
The Field Technician is responsible for the daily operation, monitoring, maintenance, and performance of water treatment systems to ensure water quality and system performance remain within contractual and operational standards. This is an entry-level position with all training provided. Once fully trained, the Field Technician will work independently on second shift while maintaining safe and efficient system operations.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Operate sludge collection units and remove sludge as required.
- Perform water quality testing and document results accurately.
- Make chemical adjustments to maintain proper system performance.
- Monitor and maintain chemical feed systems.
- Review water quality test data with the Site Manager.
- Maintain optimal system performance and troubleshoot operational issues.
- Complete daily documentation related to system operations, testing, and maintenance activities.
- Monitor inventory levels of chemicals, spare parts, and consumable supplies.
- Ensure adequate chemical inventory is available to support operations.
- Document maintenance issues, test results, and operational activities.
- Perform routine maintenance and preventive maintenance on equipment.
- Interact professionally with customers and facility personnel.
- Operate a forklift safely and efficiently.
- Follow all company safety policies and procedures.
Qualifications
Required Education
- High School Diploma or GED required.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience working in an industrial or manufacturing environment.
- Strong technical service and mechanical aptitude.
- Proven history of excellent attendance and reliability.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Above-average verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to follow directions, complete assigned tasks, and solve problems effectively.
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
Training
This is an entry-level position. Comprehensive training will be provided for all job duties and responsibilities.
Physical Requirements
While performing the duties of this position, employees are regularly required to:
- Walk multiple miles per day.
- Sit, stand, and move throughout the workday.
- Use hands and arms to handle, reach, and operate equipment.
- Talk and hear effectively.
- Climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl as needed.
- Detect odors related to chemical and system operations.
- Occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
Work Environment
The work environment may include:
- Loud noise levels.
- Exposure to wet or humid conditions.
- Work at elevated heights or precarious locations.
- Exposure to fumes, airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals.
- Exposure to extreme heat and vibration.
Appropriate safety equipment and training will be provided.
Additional Requirements
- Ability to work independently on second shift after completion of training.
- Strong work history demonstrating dependability and consistent attendance.
- Forklift operation experience required; certification/license preferred.
- Commitment to workplace safety and operational excellence.
