Part-Time Maintenance Technician

Part-Time Maintenance Technician

Wabash Center began with humble beginnings — a small group of families determined to create opportunities for their children with special needs. Decades later, we’ve grown into a leading, comprehensive service provider supporting individuals with disabilities as they pursue meaningful, independent lives.

We’ve built our legacy on compassion, quality, and care — and we’re not slowing down anytime soon. If you take pride in your work, enjoy fixing things, and want to be part of a mission-driven team, this is your chance!

 What You’ll Do:

As a Maintenance Technician, you’ll play a vital role in keeping our facilities and fleet running safely and efficiently. Each day brings new challenges and the opportunity to directly improve the comfort and dignity of those we serve.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Performing basic preventive maintenance (filters, lighting, minor HVAC)

  • Handling minor electrical, mechanical, plumbing, and facility repairs

  • Conducting routine inspections of buildings and grounds

  • Providing fleet vehicle support (fluids, tire checks, light cleaning, and upkeep)

  • Responding to maintenance requests and completing work orders promptly

  • Coordinating with contractors for more advanced repairs

  • Ordering and picking up parts and supplies for projects

  • Maintaining safety standards and accurate maintenance documentation

  • Representing Wabash Center with professionalism and respect at all times

What You Bring:

  • Minimum 1 year of experience in general or industrial maintenance (electrical, plumbing, mechanical, HVAC, or similar)

  • High School Diploma or GED preferred — equivalent experience considered

  • Must be 18 years or older with:

    • Valid Indiana driver’s license

    • Clean driving record

    • Insurability under Wabash Center’s policy

  • Ability to:

    • Lift up to 50 lbs.

    • Climb ladders, bend, stoop, kneel, and crouch

    • Work safely with hand and power tools

    • Work in both indoor and outdoor environments with exposure to varying weather

What Wabash Center Offers You:

  • On-site training and onboarding support

  • A fun, hands-on, and rewarding work environment

  • Flexible scheduling during onboarding; consistent schedule once set

  • Opportunities to learn new skills and grow existing ones

  • The chance to make a real difference across the entire organization

This role offers a unique opportunity to use your maintenance skills in a meaningful way — no two days are the same, and you’ll see the impact of your work every day.

Join Wabash Center, where every repair helps support our mission to improve lives.
