Position Overview
The HR Specialist provides day-to-day professional Human Resources support to local management and employees within the business unit. This role focuses on delivering high-performance, employee-centered, and purpose-driven HR services to a diverse workforce while supporting the company's vision, mission, values, and strategic objectives.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Manage the full-cycle recruitment process, including sourcing, screening, interviewing, and candidate selection.
- Conduct onboarding and orientation programs to ensure successful integration of new employees.
- Assist employees with benefits, payroll, and compensation-related inquiries.
- Address employee relations concerns, conduct investigations, and facilitate conflict resolution.
- Ensure compliance with all applicable federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations.
- Coordinate and deliver training programs that enhance employee skills and support professional development.
- Collaborate with management and HR team members to implement HR policies and procedures aligned with company goals.
- Support performance management processes and employee development initiatives.
- Maintain HR-related documentation, including employment offers, contracts, policies, and employee handbooks.
- Stay informed of HR trends, best practices, and regulatory changes to support continuous improvement efforts.

Education and Experience
- Bachelor's degree preferred in:
- Human Resources
- Psychology
- Sociology
- Training & Development
- Organizational Development
- Related field
- 0–3 years of experience in Human Resources, preferably as an HR Generalist or in a similar HR role.
Computer Skills
- Proficiency in:
- Microsoft Word
- Microsoft Excel
- Microsoft Access
- Microsoft PowerPoint
- Ability to conduct basic internet research.
Language Skills
- Ability to fluently read, write, and speak English.
- Ability to read and comprehend instructions, correspondence, and memos.
- Ability to communicate clearly and professionally in both written and verbal formats.
- Spanish and/or Japanese language skills are a plus but are not required.
Mathematical Skills
- Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide using whole numbers, fractions, and decimals.
- Ability to apply concepts such as percentages, ratios, proportions, and fractions to practical situations.
Reasoning Ability
- Ability to apply common-sense understanding to carry out instructions provided in written, oral, or diagram form.
- Ability to apply broad knowledge of principles, practices, and procedures to complete assignments.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretion.
Special Requirements
- Strong attention to detail.
- Comfortable speaking and presenting to large groups.
Regulatory and Regional Knowledge
- Working knowledge of federal employment laws and regulations.
- Understanding of state-specific employment laws in locations where the company and its affiliates operate.
