Group Sales & Corporate Partnerships Ambassador

Group Sales & Corporate Partnerships Ambassador

Role Overview
We aren’t looking for a "cubicle" salesperson. We are looking for a sophisticated connector—someone who can walk into a Purdue faculty meeting, a downtown boardroom, or a luxury wellness club and make our boutique inn the only destination they consider. This role requires a blend of strategic outreach, relationship management, and event curation.   You are not just selling rooms; you are selling curated, hassle-free experiences that make a Tuesday at our Inn more valuable than a weekend elsewhere.

The Mission

Your primary goal is to fill our rooms and meeting spaces from Monday to Thursday by building high-value partnerships. You will bridge the gap between "standard lodging" and "curated experience" beginning with and not limited to these six key pillars:

  1. Purdue University: Become the go-to for visiting professors, departmental retreats, and alumni leadership summits.
  2. The C-Suite: Pitch "Midweek Offsites and Retreats" to C-suite leaders focusing on strategic planning, team-building, and leadership development in a distraction-free environment.
  3. Golf Enthusiasts: Partner with regional courses to offer packages that exploit open midweek fairways.
  4. Health & Wellness: Curate "Zen-Away" midweek stays for yoga studios, meditation groups, and corporate wellness retreats.
  5. Senior Travelers: Re-imagine the "Golden Years" reunion with low-stress, high-comfort itineraries that celebrate nostalgia and focus on social connection.
  6. Niche Hobbyists: Targeted outreach to bird-watching guilds, bridge clubs, or photography workshops seeking a picturesque "home base."

Daily Hustle

  • Strategic Hunting: Proactively identify and pitch decision-makers at Purdue and regional corporations.
  • Experience Design: Don’t just sell a room; sell a "Wellness Wednesday" or an "Executive Strategy Session" inclusive of catering and tech.
  • Relationship Management: Execute persuasive sales presentations to potential group leaders and decision makers.  Distribute promotional materials like flyers and brochures to targeted local locations.
  • Market Intelligence: Stay ahead of campus calendars and corporate fiscal cycles to time your pitches perfectly.

Who You Are

  • The Networker: You have (or can build) a Rolodex that spans from the Purdue Union to the local Country Club.
  • The Aesthetic Eye: You understand that boutique hospitality is about the details.
  • The Closer: You’re comfortable talking ROI with a CFO and "Vibe" with a wellness influencer.
  • The Local Expert: You know or are willing to find the best hidden gems in the area to recommend for a group’s afternoon excursion.

The Perks

  • The Office: Forget the fluorescent lights; your office is a beautifully designed boutique inn.
  • The Pay: Competitive base + a commission structure that rewards your midweek hustle.
  • The Lifestyle: High autonomy. You manage your strategy.

Core Performance Metrics

  • Midweek Occupancy: Achieve a 30%+ increase in Monday –Thursday room nights within the first six months.
  • Lead Generation: Maintain a pipeline of at least 5-10 active group inquiries at all times.
  • RevPAR (Revenue Per Available Room): Ensuring that increased occupancy doesn't come at the cost of deep discounts, maintaining a healthy balance between rate and volume.
  • Ancillary Revenue Growth: Success in booking high-margin "add-ons," such as catered events and boxed lunches.

 Candidate Requirements

  • Experience: 3+ years in hospitality sales, corporate events, or high-end brand ambassadorship or at a minimum 2+ years in hospitality, retail sales, or community engagement.
  • Skills:
    • Exceptional interpersonal and public speaking skills with a “guest-first” mindset.
    • Ability to navigate C-suite dynamics and academic hierarchies.
  • Attributes: Highly organized, self-motivated, proactive problem-solver, engaging personality, a passion for creating memorable guest experiences.
