DESCRIPTION:Greater Lafayette Commerce hosts Manufacturing Week each year to bring awareness to our community about manufacturing in our region. This event is designed to educate our next generation workforce in the vast opportunities and career pathways available to them. These activities allow students the ability to discover how they can learn\, work\, and live right here in Greater Lafayette. Manufacturing Week activities are broken down into 3 age groups:\nManufacturing Discovery (Kindergarten   5th grade)  *held at the FairgroundsCreate a workshop engaging grade school students in Manufacturing discovery activities. Station activities include these groups:  LEAN activity\, quality activity\, supply chain activity\, and teamwork activity.  There will be 4 sessions lasting 30 minutes each.\nManufacturing Expo (6th   8th grade)  *held at the FairgroundsCreate a workshop engaging middle school students in Manufacturing discovery activities. Station activities include hands on activities with 4 different manufacturing partners exploring careers in design\, production\, logistics and support pathways in manufacturing.  There will be 4 sessions lasting 45 minutes each.\nManufacturing Tours (High School)Offer tours of your manufacturing facility. Show students your amazing facilities and provide insight to careers available to career bound or college bound high school students!  \nRegister now to participate and connect with the Next Generation Workforce!
